“PHOTOGRAPHY” INVITATION: I invite you to create a photography intention and then create a blog post for a place you have visited. Alternately, you can post a thematic post about a place, photos of whatever you discovered that set your heart afire. You can also do a thematic post of something you have found throughout all your travels: churches, doors, people reading, people hiking, mountains, patterns, all black & white, whatever!
You probably have your own ideas about this, but in case you’d like some ideas, you can visit my page: photography inspiration.
I challenge you to post no more than 20 photos (fewer is better) and to write less than 350-400 words about any travel-related photography intention you set for yourself. Include the link in the comments below by Wednesday, November 28 at 1:00 p.m. EST. When I write my post in response to this challenge on Thursday, November 29, I’ll include your links in that post.
This will be an ongoing invitation, every first and third (& 5th, if there is one) Thursday of each month. Feel free to jump in at any time. 🙂
I hope you’ll join in our community. I look forward to reading your posts!

I invite you all to settle in and read a few posts from our wandering community. I promise, you’ll be inspired!
- Lynn, of bluebrightly, wrote about her extensive road trip around the Los Angeles area, with highlights from the city, the desert, the mountains and the beach.
- Jude, of Travel Words, posted some very Italian-looking photos from Little Italy in San Diego.
Thanks to all of you who shared posts on the “photography” invitation. 🙂
Just fabulous, aren’t they, Cathy? 🙂 🙂 I’m sorry I don’t have your energy and haven’t managed to contribute for a while. A week tomorrow we hand over the keys, and fly to the Algarve on Sunday, 25th. Finally 🙂

I just loved the stark beauty in this part of our country, Jo. It’s all so alien to where I live on the east coast. Don’t worry about contributing or anything blog-related, Jo. You are very busy right now! So exciting. The time is almost here to change your life completely! Have fun and hope it all goes smoothly. 🙂

It was, Cathy. On Monday we have our last walk with the group, on the York Moors. Followed by coffee with my lady friends and in the evening a meal with friends from the time when I first met Michael. I’ve started to clean as I go along or it will never get done 😃😃

You’re going to miss your old walks and old friends, Jo, but at least you’ll have new areas to explore and new friends to make. You’ll get all the cleaning done; there’s nothing like a deadline to make things happen. Good luck!

Just been introduced to rhubarb and ginger gin. Some folks like to lead you astray 🍸😃

Yum, that sounds good. I’d love that recipe! And it’s always fun to be led astray. 🙂

There is so much beauty in that part of the country. I haven’t visited Utah, but I did drive through New Mexico many years ago. I would love to return again at some point.

It is such a beautiful and stark area of the country, Wendy. I would like to explore more of New Mexico myself in the not-so-distant-future. 🙂

Fantastic pictures! Glad to see there are others out there who Enjoy looking at stone. My family thinks I’m nuts.

I love all the shapes in stone that you can find in these areas of the country, Paul. It really is an amazing part of our country. I don’t think you’re nuts at all! 🙂

I love the photos, the colours, and the quotes. This kind of artistry is something I find in great diversity every time I visit a local beach – but I’m hopeless at sourcing quotes!

Thanks so much, Meg. I remember many of your posts where you featured beautiful beach rocks and artistic things you found while walking along the sea. 🙂

The quotes are so perfectly in tune with the artistry of the patterns created by water over the millennia and the gorgeous and subtle colours. A beautiful post Cathy

Thanks, Pauline. I was lucky to find the quotes, although I didn’t know if they fit as perfectly as I would have liked. 🙂

Geology is fascinating, only wish I had had the chance to study it. When walking on rocks that are millions of years old and once formed a sea-bed I find it hard to understand. Layers and layers of history.

I know, it seems way above my head for sure. I’m sure there is so much to know that I can barely comprehend. 🙂

It’s fascinating to think about water making patterns in the rock in this dry, dry place. Beautiful!

Yes, and it had to have been very ancient water!
